Christmas and Traditions

Hey there, fellow bloggers. Well this past week I've been thinking about traditions. And the fact that people around me seem to be willing to let them go. It seems that this time around Christmas doesn't feel the same. I am still grateful for the birth of the savior and I love that we celebrate that.

But this season flew by and I feel I didn't really get to enjoy it.
As far as traditions go, there is one my family is doing good at keeping up. For the past few years someone in my family has always gotten sick for Christmas. This year, four of us are. Well, ain't that swell.

Anyways, sorry for the random thoughts. Talking does help sometimes.

Merry Christmas

College

Well college is . . . interesting. I've survived my first week, got out of a crazy class, got all my books, managed to find parking every day, and balance work. Wohoo! BYU is great, but huge. There are so many people everywhere. I've been able to see some old friends but miss others. Perhaps we'll meet some time around. Well, that's life right now.

17 Only comes once in a lifetime, don't it just fly by wild and free?

Livin' on crazy dreams. Rock 'n Rollin' in Faded Blue Jeans, going whichever way the wind blows baby. Seventeen.
I waited forever for that song to work for me and now the time is almost over. In less than a week I will be 18, a legal adult. Many things happened to me as a 17 year old. Here are some in no particular order:
Graduation! I graduated from Springville High School with a 4.0.

Became an Aunt!

My Nephew Malias was born October 13. He is such a cutie.

Got on Facebook! HaHa such a momenteous occasion. ;)

No picture, sorry! Tons on Facebook though.

Went to my 1st Prom!!! It was fabulous and I absolutely love my dress. We're gonna spray paint it white and use it as my wedding dress. Haha, just kidding. It is amazing though.

My Brother went on a mission as you can tell by the last post which was, BTW, forever ago. Oh well. :D
That's all. Just gonna go grow up now. I still can't believe it. Crazy, crazy.

Missionary

Well, my brother Jake goes into the MTC tomorrow. I know this is a great thing but it is also very hard. My sister Amanda, Jake and I all grew up together, playing many afternoons, weekends and days off school. I watched our older two brothers go on their missions and have seen how serving the Lord helped them and I know that Jake will grow from this and so will we as a family. It's very strange to think about all of the things that can happen in two years, especially now that we're older and our lives are continuing at a rapid rate. This is a great part of life and I will support my brother fully, no matter how much I miss him. :)

Yay 2009

Well, it's a new year. This time always bring about a reflection of the past 365 days. A lot of things have happened in 2008 that I will remember for all of my life. Some important things that happened in 2008 to me:
My uncle Joel passed away in February.
My Grandmother got married again in August, after 26 years of being a widow.
Malias was born, making me an Aunt for the first time (in October.)
My brother announced he was putting in his mission papers.
This past year brought ups and downs. The downs have caused me to rely on my Heavenly Father even more, and without him and my family I could not have made through.
So here is to the new year-may we make it into the best year yet.
